Client: The Herald-Sun

Project: This was a 16-page special preview section for the 2003 ACC football season, with the cover story being N.C. State's rise to prominence.

My Role

• Devised the visual theme of making the section look like a comic book
• Worked with writers to develop story ideas
• Designed the entire section
• Edited all of the copy
• Wrote all of the display type
• Proofread the entire section

Other Information
The section received an honorable mention (top 20) in the Associated Press Sports Editors Best Special Section contest for newspapers in the 40,000-100,000 circulation range (The Herald-Sun's circulation was about 49,000 at the time).
