We spent a few hours on Independence Day at the 30th Festival for the Eno. It was the first time I had attended the festival, and it was pretty fun. It was basically like a state fair without the rides. We munched a turkey leg and a delicious crepe, then watched a rollicking performance by the Scottish bagpipe-and-drums group Albannach. One of the band members (I think it was this guy), when introducing the group before they started playing, identified himself as an author on the best-sellers list in Scotland. The group put on a heck of a show, their impressive drumming and bellowing bagpipe sending some in the crowd into frantic dances.
