I upgraded to WordPress 2.8 today for all of 10 minutes. The new features seem pretty neat, if they worked. Unfortunately, they didn’t, at least not for me. The new widgets interface, which looked slicker and more efficient than the old one, had issues as the drag-and-drop function, along with any kind of javascript action (like clicking on the dropdown arrow on a box to expand it), did not work. Same with my dashboard. So I quickly restored my blog to 2.7.1. Apologies to anyone who could not access the blog during those 30 minutes. Let’s hope 2.8.1 will fix these issues.

Note to self: Next time, try upgrade on test site first.
