So I’m now 2-for-2 in bringing rain to Boston. When I went up there last December, we had a chilly, rainy day. I went up to Beantown again today, and it was more of the same. Fortunately, we were going to the Museum of Fine Arts, so the weather outside didn’t really matter. The museum was expansive, and we were only able to see about half of the exhibits, mostly in the Chinese section. We also took in a special exhibit on Assyrian art, which was very impressive. The most interesting items in the Assyrian collection for me were the tiny little stone tablets with writings carved/imprinted on them. These were contracts, letters, and all sorts of other communiques. I’m guessing the Assyrians didn’t have many long-winded documents. Pity the poor Assyrian secretary who had to take dictation.
